Improving dynamic capabilities in a sustainable value chain - CAPTURE
Improving dynamic capabilities in a sustainable value chain - CAPTURE
Project “CAPTURE” is implemented within the framework of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021–2026 and is financed by European Union funds through the NextGenerationEU instrument.
About the project
Sustainable development entails meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, which is why firms must simultaneously account for environmental integrity, social justice, and economic profitability.
Research confirms that sustainability initiatives can become a source of competitiveness, depending on a firm’s resource orientation and its motivation (ethical, discretionary, or regulatory), and that sustainability principles permeate the entire value chain—from green procurement and eco-design to recycling and logistics. In this research project, the dynamic capabilities perspective has been selected as the theoretical framework, emphasizing a firm’s ability to adapt and reconfigure resources in a turbulent environment.
The project examines cross-functional coordination across the entire value chain, as it ensures information sharing, aligned decision-making, and commitment to implementing sustainability initiatives. It will therefore draw on specific theoretical perspectives to investigate the role and collaboration of individual departments within and beyond the organization, with the aim of enhancing the firm’s dynamic capabilities and its sustainable value creation chain. The analysis will focus on supplier relationships, innovation capacity, organizational buyers’ decision-making styles, sustainability-related risks, ESG reporting, as well as sentiment and the influence of external stakeholders.
